About Wats up! My name's Shannyn. In 2020, I had a spinal cord injury leaving me a paraplegic. I live independently in my apartment with my dog Princess. She's my loyal best friend. We love to go outside and fly down the side of the road while she runs happily pulling me in my WCMX skate wheelchair. It's always amusing seeing the look on people's faces when we fly past their car I used to enjoy sports and swimming but there are very limited options or even transportation where I am living .( I'm from Chicago but staying near the Wisconsin border) I am interested in learning new ways to be physically active especially outdoors or try learning an individual adaptive sports. Living in a rural area I have quickly realized there are a lot of barriers for me to access the places I want to go. Living alone with a SCI can be exhausting at times and it's hard to find ways to consistently eat healthy. Easy, quick, low prep, low cleanup...and healthy meal ideas is what I really need. Thanks! 😊

Welcome to NCPAD's 14-Week Program to a Healthier You!

What is the program?

  • Description: A free, personalized, web-based physical activity and nutrition program
  • Target Audience: People with mobility limitations, chronic health conditions and physical disabilities
  • Goal: To help you get moving and making healthy nutrition choices
  • Duration: 14 weeks

How does it work?

  • You register for the program and tell us a little about yourself.
  • We take the information you gave us and, to the best of our abilities, provide you with personalized resources and exercises that meet your individual needs over the course of 14 weeks.
  • Because there is new material each week that builds on the previous weeks, the program works best if you visit at least once a week.
