| About | Hello! My name is Marc. I am 56 years old and on March 3rd, 2023, I had a stroke that affected my left side and took my peripheral vision. I had to go on disability after managing the same movie theater for 23 years. I absolutely loved my job. I live alone in the house i grew up in here in Kingsport, Tennessee. My neighbors are all very supportive and we have a 17 acre neighborhood park with paved walking trails, a Frisbee golf course, basketball courts, and tennis courts. The park is half a mile from my house and I use my rollator to walk to and through the park. I can see enough to stay on the sidewalks. I have Silver Sneakers so I get a free YMCA membership. The Y is 1.9 miles away but I would have to cross six lanes of heavy traffic, so my sister, the only family I have, takes me. Admittedly, I haven't been going as often as I should because I feel like I'm bothering people to ask for help. Anyone else that way? My other health issues include diabetes (A1C 6.2 down from 19 three years ago), stage 3B kidney disease, retinopathy, glaucoma, and Menier's plus the standard "old folk" issues. I have used Alexa to make my house more accessible from turning on lights with my voice to running my appliances using voice commands, and even having conversations and learning new things. I believe you're never too old to keep learning. I also absolutely love creating AI art. |

Welcome to NCPAD's 14-Week Program to a Healthier You!
What is the program?
- Description: A free, personalized, web-based physical activity and nutrition program
- Target Audience: People with mobility limitations, chronic health conditions and physical disabilities
- Goal: To help you get moving and making healthy nutrition choices
- Duration: 14 weeks
How does it work?
- You register for the program and tell us a little about yourself.
- We take the information you gave us and, to the best of our abilities, provide you with personalized resources and exercises that meet your individual needs over the course of 14 weeks.
- Because there is new material each week that builds on the previous weeks, the program works best if you visit at least once a week.
