About Hi, my name is Patrick and I’m based in Austin, Texas. I enjoy staying active in ways that challenge me both physically and mentally, and I’m always looking for new ways to push myself and grow. When I was 13, I became paralyzed, which completely changed my life. Since then, I’ve learned how to adapt, stay resilient, and find new ways to stay active despite the challenges that come with a spinal cord injury. Accessibility and consistency can sometimes be barriers, but I’ve found that mindset and creativity go a long way in overcoming them. I’m participating in this program to continue improving my strength, health, and overall well-being, while also learning new exercises and strategies that I can incorporate into my routine. I’m also really looking forward to connecting with others who are on similar journeys—whether that’s through shared experiences, goals, or just encouraging each other along the way. To anyone else in this program: keep showing up for yourself. Progress doesn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful, and every step forward counts.

Welcome to NCPAD's 14-Week Program to a Healthier You!

What is the program?

  • Description: A free, personalized, web-based physical activity and nutrition program
  • Target Audience: People with mobility limitations, chronic health conditions and physical disabilities
  • Goal: To help you get moving and making healthy nutrition choices
  • Duration: 14 weeks

How does it work?

  • You register for the program and tell us a little about yourself.
  • We take the information you gave us and, to the best of our abilities, provide you with personalized resources and exercises that meet your individual needs over the course of 14 weeks.
  • Because there is new material each week that builds on the previous weeks, the program works best if you visit at least once a week.
